I love to bake. It is something that I enjoy doing not only for the pleasure that I get from it but also from the pleasure my baked goods bring to other people. This past Christmas I got the present of my dreams. A Kitchen Aid mixer. Chris was very happy when he was able to get the red one. He knew I would want to keep this baby out on my kitchen counter and it matched my things perfectly! Let me just say that this mixer is a dream of a machine. I just love everything about it. Yesterday I was doing some baking for Holly's class party. I made my sugar cookies, heart shaped with pink frosting and sprinkles. I just couldn't stop there. I had to bake some special treats for Holly's teacher as well as both of her ballet teachers. I made chocolate chip cookies and I tried this new recipe for a chocolate cookie.
Let me just say that the chocolate cookies are a definite must do again! They were so soft and yummy! Holly said they tasted alot like a brownie but better. We both agree that her Fairy Godmother will love these the next time she comes over. To go a bit further, Chris who generally doesn't like chocolate, said they were fabulous. He said they didn't actually look like much but boy oh boy they sure taste like a little piece of heaven.
You actually roll the dough in powdered sugar before baking and then sprinkle them with powdered sugar once they are done. Yummy!
Holly's class Valentines Party was today. We are lucky enough to have a 4 day weekend. This will be the last year for class parties as next year she goes to Middle School and they no longer have class parties. She is pictured here with 2 of her good friends. They love to play together. Liza, Holly and Sara also known as The 3 Musketeers.
Holly is great friends with Logan. They have been friends since the third grade. They can often be found together getting involved in Student Council or Safety Patrol. They both gave excellent speeches last week. The party was alot of fun. Now we can relax and enjoy our 4 days off. :)

I didn't know you got a Kitchen-Aid!!!! WOO HOO!!! Arent' they the best?!? I love the red :)so cute! And of course I noticed your plug-in the background, do you need some yummy scents for it? ;) I swear I bake even more than I used to just because I love it and want to use it! lol :)
Cute pics of Holly, like always :)
XOXO
Denissa, yes I got a Kitchen Aid for Christmas. I LOVE it. I had a stand mixer before but it was a Kenmore. It was not near as nice as this. I had that one for a long time. I actually wore it out. When you go to lift it up it wouldn't stay locked any longer. I know no matter what I am not likely to wear out my Kitchen Aid. I make alot of things with a heavy duty frosting and this will be great for that. :) I don't need any more scents at this time. When I do I will definitely let you know.
I will pass along the compliment to Holly. :0
