Let the fun begin!

Well it is that time of year again. Soccer season is here. This will be the third year that Holly has played soccer. She really loves it. She has had the same coach ever since she started playing. We really like him. I am the team manager again. It was a very busy week because we didn't get our schedules until last Tuesday and some girls didn't have their uniforms. To top it all off we found out late Wednesday night that we had pictures on Saturday prior to our game. The weather was really wierd. It was overcast and actually started to thunder and lightning! Then it started to rain but it was 94 degrees outside and extremely humid. The rain stopped and we were off to our game. I love this part that happens right before the game. The girls all line up and have to show the refs their shoes and chin pads, and also make sure that they are not wearing any clips or jewelery. This year they also have player cards and the refs will look at the card and call each girl by name to make sure we have who we say on our team.

Holly is a defender. She enjoys it. Don't let the term defender fool you though. This girl is always all over the field. SHe runs like crazy and enjoys ever minute of it.

She had a good run on the ball here. She was making incredible punts too! She worked so hard and had a blast.

We were very proud of her yesterday. She doesn't give up either. She has a cold and a really bad cough. She kept going through it all. Her motto when she gets on the field is " There's no crying in soccer! " She actually got that from a Tom Hanks movie, A League of Their Own, she just changed the words around.
When we got home whe was beat. We were all happy to be back at the house where it was a lot cooler. We will do it all again next week minus the pictures.

How fun that you have a little Holly. And,...what a cutie she is.

My girls are more athletic than my boys! It makes me smile. :)

Oh and by the way, for the Halloween postcards I literally just googled vintage Halloween Postcard and searched for stuff that was free. There were many wonderful choices. Sorry I cannot be more helpful.

The Graphics Fairy has some great stuff. I have a link for her on my side bar. Happy Hunting!!
