A visit to Grandmas

Several years ago my Mom had an idea. She thought it would be very special if she had each of her grandchildren make their own stepping stone for her yard. She started to purchase these stepping stone kits from the craft store when they would go on sale. My Mom now has 8 grandchildren. The ages range from nearly 21 years old down to nearly 3 years old. She has 3 that are 6 years old. She was hoping to have all the kids over at once to make these stepping stones. I suggested to her that it might be too hectic with all 8 kids working on the project at once. After thinking about it and not being able to make a time work that everyone could be there at once she agreed. My family went to spend the afternoon with Grandma and Grandpa yesterday. It was a very hot day. Grandma got out the 3 stepping stones she had and then got out the little packages of accessories that the kids had picked out. They were ready to start the project. This is the first step in the process. The girls were excited to move to the second step which ofcourse is the start of the decoration process. They are like me. We all enjoy crafting.

The girls were really enjoying themselves. They all have very different styles. The cement was a little tricky during the process. Sometimes it was a bit to wet to decorate so they would have to wait a bit between each thing that they wanted to add.

The results were so neat. The first stone is Holly's creation. It is very pretty. She loves stones and rocks so she was happy to incorporate both in her stone. The butterflies topped it off. She has been a butterfly girl since she was a little toddler.

This is Tiffany's creation. It is typical Tiffany. The stars and the moon. She had to leave her handprint just like the movie stars do. She left her initails as well.

This is Alissa's creation. Not to much, just enough is her motto. She carefully picked her shapes and then stamped her name as well as the year.

The girls and Grandma had a great time with this project. We had a great visit as well. It was a nice to be able to visit with Grandpa and Grandma for the afternoon and evening.
