Oh November how I love you!

Another Halloween has come and gone. I love Halloween. I am in my happy place from Halloween time right through New Years Day. It feels like a whirlwind of celebrations. People seem happier in general during this time of year. Well I will say I do run across some people that are in grumpy moods and seem very stressed out. I don't like to see that. The season should be a happy one. A time filled with joy and anticipation of all the wonderful things that lie ahead.

I think that I love November because the weather starts to feel cool and crisp in the mornings and evenings. There is also a smell of fires burning in people's fireplaces that is in the air. Grocery stores have all of their holiday fixings out. Starbucks is brewing Pumpkin Spice Lattes like crazy. It is also a time of year that brings back so many great memories from my childhood. I have a great sister and brother. I think back to the many Thanksgivings at our parents home. We always had a great time. The smell of turkey cooking was wonderful throughout my Mom's house. Even though I don't get to see my sister and brother as often as I would like to they are never far from my heart. My parents are great! My Mom always did little things to make our holiday special. She still does for us even though we are all grown and have children of our own.

We had a really nice Halloween. Chris was working and Alissa went to a party with her boyfriend. Holly and I went to a party at her friends house. There was pizza and punch, cupcakes and other treats. The group went trick or treating and ended the evening with a candy swap. Good times. The only thing missing this year was Tiffany. She was working at Disneyland though so we had no doubt that she was enjoying herself as well.

Disneyland is currently getting ready for the holidays. I love to visit there during the holiday season. We are actually on our official Disneyland count down! Yippee! I can't wait to be there later this month.

With November comes Thanksgiving. I love to cook a turkey and all of the trimmings. It is something that my family loves. I really love to see them eating and smiling. We also love to decorate for Thanksgiving. It is something that seems to be overlooked. It seems that it is a lost holiday because the retail market skips right over it and all we are bombarded with is Christmas. I love Christmas but I don't want to skip Thanksgiving.

One of our family traditions is watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. It is something that I used to do with my sister and brother and it just continued on once I had children of my own. I hope that it is something that my kids will continue to watch and love as they grow older.

So November I am so happy you are here! I look forward to everything that you will bring.
