This week is National Police Memorial Week. The tributes to Fallen Law Enforcement Officers is always a somber thing. This week is especially a sad and somber time for us as we continue to deal with the murder of our friend Earl.
He was murdered while conducting an early morning traffic stop. He is missed by so many people terribly. We will be attending a special dedication next week as the park that was in his neighborhood, actually almost directly across the street from his house, is being named in his honor. His name has already been added to the Memorial Fountain at the CHP Academy as well as to the Police Memorial outside the State Capital Building. Tiffany and I have been there and it was such a sad thing to see. It is a strange thing though but through this horrible thing I have made a very good friend. Her name is Denissa. Her husband is also an Officer and they lived directly behind Earl. Her husband was very close friends with him. We were talking awhile back and both agreed that Earl would be happy that we have become friends. The other thing about all of the ceremonies and honors that have come to Earl after his murder is that her would really be wondering what all of the hoopla was about. We know though that all of the hoopla is for a wonderful person that was taken from us all way too soon. We all love you and miss you so much Earl. You are forever in our hearts,and forever our hero.
