The Visit to the Dentist!

Today I took Holly to the dentist. She LOVES to go to the dentist. She is the only 7 year old that can tell you the exact date and time of her appointments. She had to have a filling fixed today as well as have her tooth pulled. Her adult tooth had grown in over her baby tooth and so the dentist said the baby tooth had to come out. She did very well with the filling which I was not surprised about. The dentist had to apply the novacaine above her tooth in the upper gum with a needle. When he started to do this she started crying and screaming and basically through a fit. We tried to calm her down. I even tried to bribe her with Baskin Robbins if she could just calm down and let the dentist do what he needed to do. He tried again and it only got worse. He had no other choice but to stop. I felt so bad for the dentist and his staff as well as the other patients. The dentist and his staff are so AWESOME. Holly had an appointment a couple days before her birthday and they know how much she loves pirates, so they made hats out of newspaper and wore eye patches and even made up pirate names. She loved it so much. She loves them so much. After we left I talked to her about what happened and she felt really bad. She said she hopes they forgive her. I told her that they would. We were almost home and she asked " Hey aren't we going to Baskin Robbins? " I told her no. She was really upset and I had to tell her that she didn't hold up her end of the deal and after all a deal is a deal. When we got home she went upstairs and wrote the dentist and his staff a letter about how sorry she was for behaving like that in the office. I thought it was cute and she thought of it all on her own. Oh yes and needless to say her Daddy can take her to the dentist the next time!
