What a great day!

What a great day we had yesterday! We spent the day with our wonderful friends and their family. This is the second year we have done this and we hope to keep doing it for years to come. It was a hot day so needless to say the kids basically lived in the pool. Holly was so excited to be spending the entire day with her best friend Paige! The two of them are thick as thieves let me tell you. The girls were so funny because they kept getting out of the pool to refuel with the many wonderful snacks that were there for the taking. We all enjoyed visiting and eating. It was a very relaxing afternoon. We had a great BBQ dinner! Rick and Kathy are so welcoming and make the whole day a great time for everyone. With all of the snacks and great dinner everyone was ready for the dark of night to fall so we could watch a great fireworks display.

We all went outside to the front yard to watch the fireworks. As we were settling into our seats out came Kayla's famous apple pie! Yummy is all I can say. It is very good. Holly even took a slice home. I am not sure how she managed that one. I didn't get to bring a piece home!

Chris and Nic were excited about setting off the fireworks. They along with Scott and Steve took turns with all of the fireworks. The show was really great. We were lucky to have such a nice display to enjoy.

The kids were all having a blast. They sat so nicely on the blanket watching the show and enjoying their pie.

This is just a shot of the grand finale! This group went on for a long time. The kids wanted the show to keep going and going. They did enjoy the wolf packs. They loved the popping sound.

The sparklers were next. They were a big hit. It did get very smoky though. This was the end of such a great day. After the sparklers it was time to pack everything up and head home. We got home pretty late, close to 11:00 pm. Holly was beat. The upside to that is that she did sleep in today until 8:30.

Well we have some great memories of our fantastic day yesterday. I got some great pictures that you know I will be scrapbooking very soon. The best part of the whole day was just being able to spend it with our great friends. I am so lucky to have a wonderful BFF that has an equally wonderful family. We love you guys!
