Well rehersals for The Nutcracker started a couple of weeks ago. Tonight though was the first rehersal that was just for Holly's cast and it included all of the other dancers that will be performing in the scene. Holly was so excited. She told me on the way to the dance studio that she was really happy that she made it. She said she was having a great time. I was watching as the rehersal started and saw all the older kids coming into the studio. The looks on the little girls faces were great to watch. 
Some of the older dancers said hi to the baby mice. That is the part that Holly plays. The girls were sitting patiently when in walked a dancer by the name of Wally. He performs with the studio as well as with the Ballet Company that the production is under. Wally is not just any dancer mind you he is the king, the rat king that is. The girls all watched him in amazement. He began talking to all of them. He shook a couple of the girls hands including Holly's. The girls had smiles on their faces the size of the state of Texas. He interacted with them some more. Then they all started the rehersal. The other rats each took hold of a baby mouse and helped them along as the dancing began. Wally is the rat that helps Holly. She is so excited about this! This was the first time they were all practicing together and it was really fun to watch. After rehersal Holly came out and told me she had the best time ever! She can't wait until the next rehersal and there are 2 scheduled for this upcoming week. This begins our immersion into everything Nutcracker.
