Nutcracker here we come.............

Ballerina Girl..........

Well last Saturday Central West Ballet Company held it's annual auditions for the Nutcracker production. Holly wanted to audition last year but she was not 7 years old at the time of the auditions. She was really looking forward to this year because she was the right age to audition. The process was very professional. We had to bring a photo and fill out an application. Holly thought it was really neat because she got to have a number pinned on her hip. They had the girls all warm up together before the auditions. They group was split into two and Holly went in another room with the first group. When she was finished she said she had a great time. They told everyone that they would be notified by the end of the week as to if they were chosen or not. In the car on the way home I told Holly that there were alot of people trying out and that they would not be able to choose everyone. She said " Mommy even if they don't choose me this year I had fun and I can try again next year. " I was so proud of her for knowing that on her own and being OK with it. Most of all I was just so happy that the experience was fun for her.

This week has been really busy. We are getting ready for Harvest Hay Day at Holly's school. We are really excited because they have moved it back to the school. I can't wait to see all of the baskets that are going to be raffled off. It is always a fun time. I have been busy with all of this and yesterday I quickly ran to check the mail box. The letter was there waiting for Holly. I opened it up and was so happy for her because she made it! She will be a baby mouse and will be a member of the B cast. When Holly came home she read this and was so excited. She called her Grandma and Grandpa last night and left them a message to call her because she had some exciting news. She even called her Grandpas cell phone and left another message. Well they both called her back this morning before school. She was really happy to share the news with them.

So now I have to go to a parent meeting and get all of the particulars. I do know that rehearsals start the week of October 6th and they are very busy right up until the last performance right before Christmas. It should be a fun thing though. They will let us know for sure soon about the exact dates and performance times for the B cast. This way once tickets go on sale we can purchase them right away. I think it will be such a good experience for Holly. I know she will love it and also love performing up on the stage at the Gallo Arts Center! Fun times lie ahead................
